TBS has ordered third seasons of its hit original sitcoms “Sullivan & Son,” starring popular comedian Steve Byrne, and “Men at Work.”
TBS has also ordered a second season of the hit series “Deal With It.”
“‘Sullivan & Son’ and ‘Men at Work’ have really caught on with TBS’s core viewers, and ‘Deal With It’ has burst out of the gate as one of the summer’s most popular new cable series,” said Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We are very excited to be expanding our relationship with the producers, cast members and production teams on these three series.”
TBS has ordered 13 episodes of “Sullivan & Son,” which airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) and is set to wrap up its second season on Thursday, Aug. 22.
Season 2 has featured such guest stars as Ken Jeong (“The Hangover”), Kunal Nayyar (“The Big Bang Theory”), Billy Gardell (“Mike & Molly”), Pat Sajak (“Wheel of Fortune”), and NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski.
“Sullivan & Son” is executive-produced by Vince Vaughn (“Wedding Crashers”), Peter Billingsley (“Iron Man”) and showrunner Rob Long (“Cheers”). The series is averaging 2.4 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery this summer, including 1.3 million adults 18-49.
“Sullivan & Son” is produced for TBS by Wild West Picture Show Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television. Season 3 is slated to launch in summer 2014.
Created by Byrne and Long, “Sullivan & Son” stars Byrne as Steve Sullivan, a successful corporate attorney who comes home to Pittsburgh and buys the family bar. Freed from his corporate life, Steve spends his days hanging out with his best friends, the gullible Owen (Owen Benjamin), cougar-chasing Ahmed (Ahmed Ahmed) and hard-nosed Roy (Roy Wood, Jr.); weighing oft-opposing counsel from his lovable Irish American father, Jack Sullivan (Dan Lauria), and stern Korean mother, Ok Cha (Jodi Long); getting accosted by his long-suffering, under-appreciated younger sister, Susan (Vivian Bang); delighting in offensive comments from gruff barfly Hank (Brian Doyle-Murray); and keeping an eye on the bar’s resident siren, Carol (Christine Ebersole), who hits on just about every man who comes in the door. Steve has even rekindled a few romantic sparks with his former flame, paramedic Melanie (Valerie Azlynn).
Upcoming airings (subject to change): Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 25, at 8:30 a.m. Episodes can also be viewed online. For more information on the show, go to www.tbs.com/shows/sullivan-and-son/.
