On Wednesday, the first two witnesses in the official impeachment probe — American diplomats Bill Taylor and George Kent — testified in public hearings on Capitol Hill.
As the two men began answering questions from the Democrats, several text messages between Taylor, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, and Kurt Volker, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, were referenced. Several texts shown at the testimony thus far featured those stress-inducing three dots, along with photos of the people involved in the messages, and even blue chat bubbles. Twitter users commended the effort to recreate an authentic text exchange, but also found some humor in the dots.
