Finally,??? ?? ?? ??? PornHub has jumped into cryptocurrency craze just as the ancient prophecies foretold.
The widely-visited porn site is pairing up with cryptocurrency company Verge to offer customers an easier way to pay for Pornhub products, including for the site's Premium HD-quality, ad-free subscription service, that's both secure and offers anonymity which is nice because you're probably tired of hiding the credit card bill from your spouse.
Verge cryptocurrency also offers an extra level of anonymity and security by using anonymous networks like Tor and I2P; it's also an open-source project as opposed to a privately-owned company.

It also has a soundtrack that sounds suspiciously like Stranger Things. You can make of that what you will.
Corey Price, VP of Pornhub has this porn-as-trendsetter thought front of mind, too, saying, in a press release announcing the partnership:
"History has proven that the adult entertainment industry plays a critical role in adoption for innovative technology. We saw that with VHS, Beta Max, credit card payment icons and, most recently, VR goggles. We expect to see widespread adoption of crypto and blockchain in short order.”
While Price's statement certainly has merit, I can't help but wonder if the Winklevoss twins will be annoyed that YET AGAIN someone else gets all the credit. ALAS.
Because of the volatility in value of cryptocurrency, Price says the site isn't yet accepting it for recurring payments, just one-time payments, but is looking into how to adapt to make recurring payments a possibility down the line.
For now, Pornhub is dealing exclusively with Verge (adult gaming site Nutaku and adult film site Brazzers are also pairing with Verge), noting its security and the fact that many users supported Verge in a survey, but is looking to possibly expand to other cryptocurrencies in the future.
