Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has had quite the year.

Since becoming the youngest woman ever elected to Congress in 2018,strange sex videos Ocasio-Cortez set out to find her footing in American politics. In 2019 she made a number of profoundly eloquent speeches on the House floor, got real about climate change by sponsoring the Green New Deal, publicly challenged several of Donald Trump's actions, and more. 

But she also made time for some good, old-fashioned fun. In the midst of her busy schedule, Ocasio-Cortez taught fellow Democrats how to use Twitter, trolled the GOP, played with a penguin, and even hung out with the cast of Queer Eye.

As the 30-year-old continues to make a powerful impression on the American people, let's look back at 18 of her best moments this year.

1. Her reaction to the Breakfast Club drama

Ocasio-Cortez's year kicked off with a petty dose of drama after the GOP criticized an old video that showed her doing the famous Breakfast Clubdance when she was in college. *gasp*The congresswoman responded to the backlash accordingly, and by that, we mean she recorded a present-day video of herself dancing into her brand new office.

2. That time she called Trump a racist

When people are asked if they think Donald Trump is a racist, many avoid answering the question directly. Not Ocasio-Cortez, though. In a January interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS's 60 Minutes, when asked if she believes Trump's a racist, the congresswoman shook her head and said, "Yeah, yeah, no question."

3. Her first speech on the House floor

In January, Ocasio-Cortez also made her first speech on the House floor during Trump's government shutdown. The congresswoman addressed the 35-day-long shutdown (the longest in America's history) directly, and the speech reportedly broke a C-SPAN streaming record on Twitter. 

4. Her massive Post-it wall

Shortly after Ocasio-Cortez took office, several supporters left positive messages of thanks and encouragement on Post-it notes outside of her office. By February, the wall of Post-its had grown so massive that the congresswoman had to move the notes insideher office.

5. The Cohen hearing stare

Michael Cohen publicly testified before Congress in February. In addition to comments he made about President Trump, Stormy Daniels, and the Trump Tower Russia deal, we also got a badass photo of Ocasio-Cortez with fellow Democratic representatives, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib. Look at those withering stares. Iconic.

6. Her Big Pharma speech

Another powerful Ocasio-Cortez speech happened in February when she took on Big Pharma. The congresswoman asked a series of in-depth questions about public investment return on the development of drugs, and raised a big discussion online.

7. When she exposed America's broken campaign finance system

Then there was the time AOC played a five-minute lightning round "Corruption Game" with members of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. She wound up masterfully exposing America's flawed campaign finance system. NBD.

8. Her Green New Deal defense

In March, AOC memorably defended the Green New Deal to the Senate after the plan was rejected by a vote of of 57-0. Ocasio-Cortez powerfully addressed concerns that the deal was "elitist" by bringing up issues from the water in Flint, Michigan, to kids in the Bronx with childhood asthma.

9. When she called out Jared Kushner

In April, when responding to reports that Jared Kushner used WhatsApp to speak with foreign leaders about sensitive, government-related information, Ocasio-Cortez asked, "What is next, putting nuclear codes in Instagram DMs?" 🔥

10. When she hung out with the Queer Eye cast

In between speaking before House committees and carrying out congressional duties, AOC took some time to hang out with four members of the Fab Five: Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Bobby Berk. Can you believe?

11. When she got real about student loans

In June, AOC announced that she's teaming up with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, and Rep. Ilhan Omar to forgive student loans and ensure college will be tuition-free.

12. When she subpoenaed Kellyanne Conway 

AOC also visited The Late Showin June to explain to Stephen Colbert why she subpoenaed White House staffer Kellyanne Conway. (Spoiler alert: Conway skipped work.)

13. When she played with a penguin

In August, Ocasio-Cortez shared a remarkable video of herself having some fun with an adorable penguin in an aquarium. It's clear that the two had undeniable chemistry, and we are blessed to have seen such a precious moment.

14. The time she defended her reasonably priced haircut

Remember when AOC had the audacity to get her hair cut? The Washington Times, a conservative publication, reported that "sources familiar with" the congresswoman's salon (Last Tangle in Washington) revealed that she spends around $80 on a haircut and $180 on lowlights.

The publication criticized AOC for spending so much on personal maintenance, but failed to note that these prices are pretty normal for women's hair upkeep. Ocasio-Cortez responded to the backlash with her usual fire, and composed a powerful tweet about the millions of Americans who are living in poverty.

15. When she grilled Mark Zuckerberg and became a meme

At Mark Zuckerberg's October testimony before the House Financial Services Committee, Ocasio-Cortez was given five minutes to question the Facebook CEO. She asked him about everything from the Cambridge Analytica data scandal and Facebook's refusal to fact-check political ads, to his plans for policing the platform ahead of the 2020 election.

AOC's questions left Zuckerberg fumbling for words, and in case that wasn't satisfying enough, we also got a glorious meme out of their interaction. The "Italian AOC" meme was born that day, and it's-a beautiful.

16. When she shared her thoughts on "OK Boomer"

Ocasio-Cortez is a proud millennial, and though she admires and works alongside many older politicians, she totally gets the saying, "OK Boomer."

While campaigning for 2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in Iowa, AOC answered some questions on Instagram Live and shared her thoughts about the generational burn.

"We grow up and we come of age and we realize that previous generations decided to screw over our planet, and create endless wars, and mess up our economy, and create a student loan crisis," AOC explained. "And when we bring up these things they say well, if you just had less avocado toast you'd be able to afford a mortgage."

17. Her impeachment commentary

The end of 2019 has been a whirlwind of impeachment news, and AOC hasn't shied away from bluntly sharing her thoughts about Trump's controversial call with the president of Ukraine. She's fired her fair share of Trump Twitter burns over the months, and a memorable one was this response to Trump once again tweeting, "READ THE TRANSCRIPT!"

18. When she called Trump out for being anti-Semitic

AOC is also known for bluntly calling Trump out when he discriminates against others. She recently tweeted a video of him speaking to the Israeli American Council and accused his words of being "dangerous" as well as "outright atrocious" and anti-Semitic.
