The Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program is thrilled to invite you to our most anticipated event of the year — our 20th annual miniature golf tournament.
Join us Saturday, March 2, at Camelot Golfland, 3200 E. Carpenter Ave. in Anaheim, for a day full of exciting competition, raffle prizes, and an opportunity to create lifelong memories. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and ends at 2 p.m. rain or shine.
Participating in the Rising Stars Golf Tournament is a great way to kick off the spring season surrounded by friends and family, with the added excitement of having the potential to walk out with amazing raffle prizes that include Disneyland tickets, a gift card tree, or a smart TV. Raffle tickets are $2 each and winners will not need to be present to receive the prize. Even if you don’t win a raffle prize, golfers will still be gifted goodie bags filled with special treats and other gifts to enjoy.
Entry to enter the tournament includes lunch and will cost $20 for adults or $15 for children age 12 and under for our early-bird deal by Feb. 17. Ticket purchases after Feb. 17 (including walk-ins) will cost $25 for adults and $15 for children. If you wish to opt out of the mini golf tournament, you are still welcome to enjoy our all-you-can-eat pizza lunch-only option at the price of $10.
This also isn’t just any golf tournament — it’s a celebration of two decades of the Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program, a five-month program that helps cultivate leadership skills and cultural awareness for Japanese American high school students. The program brings in professional trainers to help build these essential life skills through interactive workshops and activities, and students will utilize these skills to collaboratively organize and plan the golf tournament.
Through the program, participants will form lifelong friendships with others who share their same interest in making a difference in their community. The funds raised from the tournament will go towards supporting Rising Stars 21, the next generation of Rising Stars participants, and an incredible program that shapes future leaders.
“I really enjoy the workshops and interacting with my peers. The Rising Stars program has taught me valuable skills that will last me a lifetime,” said Mason Oku, a Rising Stars 20 participant. “Also, it has helped me learn more about myself and my strengths and weaknesses in various situations. In addition to the lessons I have been taught, the program also helped me open up and create strong connections with the other students.”

The Rising Stars Leadership Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is open to high school students interested in learning leadership skills and about the Japanese American community. The program starts in October and ends in April.
