“Aloha from Hawaii” is ???? ???????? ??????? ??? ?????the theme of Target Free Family Saturday on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Japanese American National Museum, 100 N. Central Ave. in Little Tokyo.
Come and make music with KoAloha Ukulele as they lead performances, workshops crafts, and all things ukulele.
Schedule:
? 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m: Make a special key chain with KoAloha Ukulele staff members.
? 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m.: Learn basic and intermediate skills of how to play the ukulele with Brian Benevente of KoAloha Ukulele and other KoAloha artist partners. (Bring your own ukulele. Limited space.)
? 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m.: For the little ones, enjoy strum-along and sing-along workshops with George “Gibi” del Barrio as “Abba Geebz” (Grandpa Geebz). (Bring your own ukulele. Limited space.)
?11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m.: Solo ukulele performances by Tj Mayeshiro, Jason Arimoto and Ryo Montgomery.
?11:30 a.m.: Enjoy a screening of the award-winning documentary “My KoAloha Story,” a story of the Okami Ohana and how a tiny ukulele has the power to change lives and bring people closer together. Q&A with the KoAloha Ukulele team and filmmakers to follow screening.
? 1:30 p.m.: Enjoy a screening of an award-winning film, “The Haumana,” about the journey of a charismatic host of a struggling Waikiki Polynesian luau show who tries to make his way back to his hula roots. Film score by KoAloha Ukulele’s artist partner, George “Gibi” del Barrio. Q&A with composer and producer to follow screening.
? 2 p.m.: In June 2013, cartoonist Vishavjit Singh dressed up as Sikh Captain America and was photographed around New York City. He will share the reactions — both positive and negative — that he received on his adventure, followed by a cartoon workshop. In conjunction with the “Marvels and Monsters” exhibition.
? 3:30 p.m.: Don’t miss this all-star jam finale featuring Jason Arimoto, Tj Mayeshiro, Ryo Montgomery, and Brian Benevente.

? Send an aloha to someone special by making a valentine with a bit of a Hawaiian touch.
